Wendy Loggia at Delacorte has acquired, in a preempt, world English rights to Well, That Was Unexpected by Jesse Q. Sutanto. This YA rom-com debut is about a girl whisked from L.A. to her mother's native Indonesia in order to "get back to her roots," who—through a comedy of errors and overzealous parents—finds herself fake-dating the son of one of the wealthiest families in Indonesia, and is surprised when she actually starts to fall in love—with the boy, the country, and the big family she never knew before now. Publication is set for fall 2022; Katelyn Detweiler at Jill Grinberg Literary Management brokered the two-book deal.

The Poison Season by Mara Rutherford

Connolly Bottum at Inkyard has bought The Poison Season by Mara Rutherford (Crown of Coral and Pearl), a fantasy in which a girl unintentionally draws a stranger to her island with her magic, leaving her with a choice—rescue him from the lake, or risk betraying her insulated community's safety and customs. Publication is scheduled for fall 2022; Uwe Stender at TriadaUS negotiated the two-book deal for world rights.

The Do Over by Lynn Painter (Simon Pulse)
Jessica Smith at Simon Pulse has bought Lynn Painter's The Do Over, a romantic comedy and YA spin on Groundhog Day, in which Emilie Hornby is forced to keep reliving the worst Valentine's Day ever until she embraces her daily clean slate and says and does everything she wants. But when it's finally February 15th, she's left to face the fallout of her actions. Publication is planned for 2022; Kim Lionetti at BookEnds negotiated the deal for world rights.

Yesterworld by Rebecca Phelps (Wattpad Books) - moved from May 2022.
The sequel to Down World, which finds Marina lured back into Down World by a mysterious man guiding the way."

December 13th
A Million to One by Adiba Jaigirdar (HarperCollins) - previously dated February and April 2022.
Claudia Gabel at HarperCollins has acquired world rights to A Million to One by Adiba Jaigirdar (The Henna Wars), a high-stakes and romantic heist YA novel set on the Titanic, in which four girls team up to steal a priceless jewel-encrusted book on board the infamous ship. Publication is scheduled for spring 2022; Uwe Stender at Triada US represented the author.

December 22nd
The Love Match by Priyanka Taslim (Salaam Reads) - moved from May 2022, then from December 6th.
Jennifer Ung at Simon & Schuster has bought for Salaam Reads, at auction, in a six-figure deal, world English rights to The Love Match by debut author Priyanka Taslim. This YA romantic comedy follows Zahra Khan, a Bangladeshi American sort-of-princess, who gets caught in a love triangle when her meddling mother sets her up with a suitable match, Jane Austen-style. Publication is planned for summer 2022; Laura Barbiea and Sara Shandler at Alloy Entertainment negotiated the two-book deal; the author is represented by Quressa Robinson at Nelson Literary.
