The Winter of Hope and Despair by Jillian Cantor (Simon Pulse)
With Scott on the run and Ellie in hiding, both siblings fight for survival and freedom—unaware of a new enemy emerging—in this gripping sequel to the young adult dystopian thriller The Season of Light and Darkness—perfect for fans of Divergent and Sunrise on the Reaping.
Scott is on the run with Olivia, who is back to her pre-ReAdmission self. Ellie is being hidden away by Matteo and Snake. As her body continues to struggle with the aftereffects of the deep freeze, Ellie’s future remains uncertain. She’s also tired of hiding and following the rules, and a small act of rebellion has devastating consequences.
Meanwhile, rebellion leader Rabia is torn apart by grief and a need for vengeance and mistakenly focuses her anger at former friends Scott and Matteo.
