A Guide to Bookish Candles

Is anyone else slightly obsessed with bookish candles? I have to admit, I've never actually bought a candle, so my experience of them is extremely limited, but I love the idea of curling up with a cup of hot chocolate and enjoying a good book, whilst enjoying the smells described in the book. Many of these candle-sellers seem to put a huge amount of work into their candles, and there are so many that I find it slightly overwhelming. So I thought I'd make myself a little guide of just a few of the companies out there, and share it! Enjoy! (All pictures belong to the respective companies).

P.S. Whilst compiling this, I found this AWESOME (and much more comprehensive) list, compiled by Brittany at The Book Addicts Guide. You should check it out here.

I'd love to know which candles you guys have tried and enjoyed - let me know in the comments! Also, I was thinking I would do a post like this for book sleeves - is that something you guys would find useful?

Love,

  1. I'd love a candle that smelt like the Gryffindor Common Room! I haven't tried a bookish candle but I do like smelling all the Yankee candles when I see them!

  2. Great list! The only one I know of that I don’t see here is Frostbeard Studio. They were one of the first Bookish candle companies and they’re still going strong!

I would love to see a compilation of booksleeve companies, noting which include padding, closures, extra pockets, etc.

  3. cute post! I looove burning candles at home. It is so nice to snuggle up with fuzzy socks and tea and a good book with some delicious smells! I haven't purchased from any of the companies listed here, but I have had many of them included in my monthly Owl Crate subscription and they smell like heaven!

  4. I wish I could buy more bookish type candles but they all seem to ship from the US and the postage is ridiculous to Australia. I've really been getting into burning candles lately and some of my favourites are from Nook and Burrow. They're an Aussie company and couple who run it and although they don't have fandom candles, they have Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and such delicious scents like fairybread. They also create the Lillytales bookmarks so you can buy them in bundles. Going to check a few of these out though Megan and fingers crossed some of them aren't too pricey to ship here. Wonderful guide, really enjoyed it <3 <3
